- What are some benefits of working hard?
- Why should you do your best, even if no one else is watching?
- How can you be diligent, even if you don't enjoy your work?
- Do you have projects you need to finish? What will it take to finish them?
- Some say diligence is “working hard to achieve something that you want,” and “being dedicated to what you need to do.” How do you define diligence?
- Others say that diligence means working hard even if you “do well or not.” Have you ever worked hard at something and still did not do well? How did that make you feel?
- Have you ever worked diligently at something and it succeeded? How did that make you feel?
- Does failing — even if you worked diligently — mean you should stop trying? Why or why not?
- Some people who must be diligent are sports stars, musicians, and people who want good grades or better jobs. Who is someone you know and/or admire who has had to work diligently? Explain your answer.
