Questions for Discussion and/or Journaling:
- Think about some of the things that have stressed you out in the last week.
- What kinds of signs do you show when you’re experiencing stress? How does your body react to stress?
- Now, think of those stressful moments, and consider whether or not you "responded" or "reacted" to those situations.
- Name a stressful moment when you were able to step back and "respond" rather than "taking the bait." How did that make you feel?
- Name a situation when you reacted and "took the bait" rather than stepping back and thinking about how you wanted to respond. How did that make you feel?
- Name some things you can do to respond instead of react.
